Caregroup

Welcome to Hope Melbourne, Waverley Centre Caregroup Resource area!

What is a Caregroup?

A Care Group comprises of a small group of youths, young adults or families who come together regularly to share their lives with one another. Throughout this sharing, group members are also nurtured in the Word of God via discussion groups and creative games. The Care Group generally consists of between seven to fourteen people. A facilitator, who is mentoring an apprentice, leads each care group, which meets up once a week to learn the Word of God and worship Christ as a celebration of their salvation. The group usually meets in one of the members' home where they are encouraged to share and account to one another about their life experiences, much alike family members. The Care Group also provides an environment of prayer whereby members can pray for each other's needs.

What is a typical caregroup setting like?

In a normal Care Group setting, members come together and build strong friendships, also know as fellowship, with each other. This is usually done through the praise and worship of God as a group plus the sharing of one another's lives/struggles. Typically, the group will start with some light-hearted games to ease the burdens of the week and to enjoy a cosy atmosphere. The facilitator will then chair a discussion based on the previous weekend sermon message and encourage the group through prayers.

Why should I join caregroup?

A Care Group offers you the opportunities of interacting within a community to build intimate personal relationships with other like-minded individuals. It helps you to understand the Word of God through various teachings and discussions, which are beneficial in character and leadership development. It also teaches you how to apply the Word of God into your daily living and provides you with an avenue for mentorship by a more mature Christian. With these newfound skills from Care Group, you will be able to successfully spread the Gospel to your friends and loved ones, thereby fulfilling the Great Commission as stipulated in the Bible.

Available Caregroups you could join:

Kingdom Generation - Family, Young Professional

Dynamic Generation - Youth

Chosen Generation - Local Students, International Students
